Augusto Grassi

Augusto was born in Rome, where he formed and still lives.

His family embraced for generations the sartorial work, and his father started working in the cinema, an environment that Augusto started learning since he was a child.

His father, sartorial cutter and leather craftsman since the 1950s, has been involved in the production of great films shot in Italy and abroad such as Ben Hur, Cleopatra, Addio Alle Armi, Casanova, etc.

Augusto, curious and fascinated by the transformation of any material into a costume, was very young when for the first time took part in the Marco Polo film. From that moment on his passion became his profession.

He was and will always be grateful to his mentor and first master Enrico Sabbatini, with whom he started and continued his professional career, up to the last film of the master.

Augusto continued his career by collaborating with many important filmmakers.
Curiosity and desire to experiment with different materials have led to new fabrics aging and coloring techniques, besides metal and leather processing.
The cinematic tailoring is his world.

The passion in making armor and many other elements of costume has been decisive for the enrichment of his curriculum.
He has worked in many countries around the world and plans to keep on doing this for a long time.

He speaks Italian, English, Spanish.
